Unlike dark amalgams made with metals, composite resin can be tinted to precisely match the shade of your smile. Another benefit, composite fillings bond with tooth structure and are less likely to change shape or leak, like amalgams.
When you come to us for a filling, Dr. Aust or Dr. Shaver will make sure you're comfortable. We're all about gentle dentistry! Once you're ready, we'll remove your worn filling or tooth decay and place a small bit of custom tinted, liquid composite resin. A soft curing light will harden the filling, then your dentist will shape and polish it. When you look in the mirror, you may not even be able to tell which tooth was filled!
